In 2019, Hystopolis Productions, in partnership with OxBow School of Art and Artists' Residency, revived this rich tradition with the inaugural KuklaFest. The event brought puppeteers together for a dynamic conference and retreat, celebrating creativity, honing skills, and sharing work. The debut was a tremendous success, with many eagerly registering for the 2020 event—only to face an unexpected pause due to the pandemic.
